The location of the vineyards, at 1,050 and 1,100 metres above sea level, means that it is one of the few vineyards in Europe where the grapes are gathered at an altitude of over 1,000 metres.

One of the innovative features of Casa Beal is that we practise biodynamic viticulture, involving the application of several techniques to the vines according to the phases of the moon, in order to achieve a ripening which is well balanced between fruit and plant.

The gewürztraminer has proved to be the variety best suited to the terrain, although it is one of the most difficult in marketing. What makes this variety particularly viable is the open soil of the vineyards, resulting from the degradation of slate over the mother rock.
